- Mauergasse is always worth a visit. Here you’ll find owner-operated shops like the interior design store drinneN (opens in a new tab) or the traditional bookstore Angermann, (opens in a new tab) as well as cozy (wine) bars like Balthasar Ress (opens in a new tab), Laquai, (opens in a new tab) or sbagliato (opens in a new tab). It’s the perfect place to combine with a visit to the weekly market!
- Half of Wiesbaden seems to gather in Obere Webergasse, especially in the summer. Everyone loves to stop by here—for example, for an aperitif or a glass of wine at Weinod (opens in a new tab) or Wine in the Hood (opens in a new tab). Breakfast & coffee
- Kaufmanns am Markt (opens in a new tab) is the perfect spot to stop by for a coffee before or after the market, and it’s a popular gathering place for Wiesbaden locals!
- Admittedly, it’s a classic, but a visit to Café Maldaner (opens in a new tab) is always a treat! It’s best to make a reservation, especially for weekend breakfast, which is served on white tablecloths on étagères.
- The Overflow Café (opens in a new tab) is a popular meeting spot, and its central location makes it easy to combine with a stroll through Wiesbaden.
- You can look forward to French-style indulgence at Chez Madlen (opens in a new tab)—a café, bistro, and delicatessen all in one. French pastries and hearty bistro cuisine await you.
- At Delikt Tagbar (opens in a new tab), in the beautiful, historic setting of the Old Courthouse, you can enjoy breakfast featuring ingredients from local producers such as the L’Abbate cheese dairy in Offenbach, Köstner Bakery, the Maldaner coffee roastery, and the inclusive Orangerie in the Aukamm Valley. - The cardamom buns alone make a visit to hier & jetzt (opens in a new tab) in the Westend worthwhile. But in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere, you can treat yourself to so much more—open-faced sandwiches made with toasted bread from their own bakery, irresistible cinnamon rolls, or cakes. Sometimes there’s live music.
- The LX Café (opens in a new tab) in the Rheingauviertel brings the flavors of the Atlantic coast to Wiesbaden: In a modern, laid-back atmosphere, you can enjoy really good coffee and hearty as well as sweet dishes from Portugal. Highlight: the Pastéis de Nata.
- At drink&bloom (opens in a new tab) in the Dichterviertel, Vanessa Dyrda offers not only specialty coffees, drinks, croissants, and fresh cake, but also cut flowers. She arranges the beautiful wildflower bouquets herself!
Small fine lunch
- We love the dumplings at Mantu (opens in a new tab)! They come with various fillings, sauces, and fresh herbs, served with tomato sauce and green peas. They also serve salads and homemade cake.
- Hindukusch (opens in a new tab) on Nerostraße is a true favorite. In a laid-back atmosphere, you can enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine, such as lamb kebab, grilled eggplant casserole, or minced meatballs stuffed with plums (a favorite!).
- Sapori D'Italia (opens in a new tab) on Taunusstraße is a spot you’d rather keep to yourself—it’s so small and so good! They serve homemade focaccia, pasta, soups, and other delicious bites.
- In the mood for a simple pizza? Then Tutti Frutti (opens in a new tab) is the place for you!
- Deli Frau Kreuter (opens in a new tab) pairs perfectly with a visit to the Museum Wiesbaden or the Museum Reinhard Ernst. Here you can discover Levantine and French cuisine in a lovely atmosphere—fresh, light, and aromatic!
- At Karim’s (opens in a new tab), you’ll be treated to Arabic cuisine—for example, couscous, lentil stew, or a shawarma or falafel plate.
Especially dinner
- Kortheuer (opens in a new tab) on Nerostraße is a true neighborhood spot. The menu features rustic German cuisine, ranging from chicken soup to pork cutlets to potato soup. How does it taste? Just like Mom used to make!
- Authentic Hessian cuisine is served at the Schoppenhof (opens in a new tab) cider pub in Westend. Here, you’ll be spoiled for choice between classics like Handkäs mit Musik, Frankfurt green sauce, or schnitzel. To go with it, there’s the fine, naturally cloudy cider from the Stier Winery in Maintal.
- Mi (opens in a new tab) in the Westend is both an art gallery and a Korean restaurant. A lovingly prepared, weekly changing menu awaits you, which you can enjoy surrounded by art.

- Anyone interested in good food simply can’t miss the Müller Spice Factory (opens in a new tab). It has everything a foodie could want—spices, of course, plus pesto, spreads, oils, chocolates, and so much more!
- The Room by Tiff (opens in a new tab) on Saalgasse near the Kochbrunnen is a true “taste space”—a concept store and deli in one, where you can get smoothies and light bites. Plus, Tiff, who’s also a fantastic singer, regularly hosts intimate backyard concerts.
- Schönwetterfront (opens in a new tab) creates high-quality Hawaiian shirts with a special twist. Whether poppies or local cultural treasures like apple cider and Riesling—Christian Jakob’s shirts are truly one-of-a-kind! You’ll also find matching T-shirts, socks, postcards, and posters with a local touch in this small shop in the Dichterviertel.

- If you love good design, you should stop by the interior shop drinneN (opens in a new tab) on Mauregasse. Here you’ll find all sorts of beautiful things in one place—from seasonal decor and pillows to candles, cards, and mugs.
- At the small but exquisite concept store Studio10 by Brillerie (opens in a new tab) on Grabenstraße, you’ll find beautiful, colorful design pieces with that “I want it” effect, all under the motto “Life is too short for a monochromatic world 🌈🧡.” And if you’re looking for new glasses—they’re right next door!
