Reading with Carolin Würfel "The weather is unreliable at home"
Tuesday, November 4 at 7:30 pm in the series: "Talking about my Generation" in the Other Salon of the Literaturhaus
Moderator: Eva Schmidt
Forty weeks is a long time, but perhaps just the right amount of time. In another country, right by the sea, the narrator wants to explore her own freedom, no longer wants to bow to the expectations of others and finally live without compromise. She soon realizes that this is not so easy, as her own past and traumas naturally travel with her and the stories of past generations gradually unfold into a map of female life.
Reading with Katerina Poladjan "Goldstrand"
Thursday, November 6 at 7:30 pm at the Literaturhaus
Moderator: Tilman Spreckelsen (FAZ)
It is supposed to be a place in the sun for everyone, the vacation resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast that people only call Goldstrand. Eli was conceived in this place in the 1950s, sixty years later he is lying on a psychologist's couch in Rome. His best days as a director are long behind him; instead, he carries his family history around with him, remembers, speculates and finally enters the ruins of the past, from which an entire century can be read.
Reading party
"Reading instead of dancing" is the motto of this special kind of party hosted by the Literaturhaus. Reading enthusiasts meet here to immerse themselves in a good book far away from to-do lists and ringing cell phones and to read together in a quiet yet sociable atmosphere. The idea comes from America. Silent reading parties have been held in numerous cities there for years. Of course, the GLYG team will also provide the right drinks and snacks. Afterwards, anyone who wants to can talk to other visitors about their reading impressions and pick up book tips.
The perfect reading party - for introverts and book nerds! Just pack your latest read and come along.
ORGANIZER: Literaturhaus Villa Clementine/Kulturamt Wiesbaden in cooperation with GLYG
