Playground In den langen Ruten in Auringen ceremoniously reopened
Following a comprehensive redesign, the "In den langen Ruten" playground on the outskirts of Alt-Auringen was reopened on Monday, May 5. The approximately 4,000 square meter area now not only offers numerous new play options for children of all ages, but also a high quality of stay for the residents of the district and beyond.
"I am delighted that we have been able to create an attractive meeting place for children, families and all generations with the redesign of this large playground," emphasizes Mayor and Head of Green Spaces Christiane Hinninger. "The ideas and wishes from the public have given the project valuable impetus."
At the opening ceremony, Christiane Hinninger and Gabriele Wolter, Head of the Parks Department, accepted a cheque for 10,000 euros from Christiane Henk, Chairwoman of the Association for the Promotion of Children and Youth Work in the Protestant parish of Auringen. The money will go towards the redesign of the facility.
The planning of the new facility was significantly influenced by the feedback from the children's and residents' participation. The results were incorporated directly into the design - the result is a lively play landscape with a variety of exercise options that promote balance, stamina, courage and coordination. The newly created green arena is a particular highlight. Numerous seating options invite you to linger both in the center of the action and in the quieter peripheral areas.
The construction work took place from January to April. The total costs amounted to around 250,000 euros.
