Ms. Hölbling has worked in Wiesbaden’s cultural administration for many years and most recently headed the Wiesbaden School of Music and Art (WMK) as well as the “Wiesbaden Music Academy (WMA)” division of the Cultural Office. In addition, Ms. Hölbling has served as the first deputy director since 2020. Under her leadership, numerous cultural education initiatives and collaborative projects with municipal institutions were successfully expanded. As the new head of the office, she brings extensive experience in cultural organizational development and a strong network within Wiesbaden’s cultural scene.

Dr. Hendrik Schmehl, Head of the Cultural Affairs Department, thanks Mr. Funk for his many years of dedication: “With his tireless commitment, he has had a decisive impact on our city’s cultural sector—from strengthening independent cultural institutions to further developing major cultural events, he has impressed with his expertise and has always been valued as a reliable contact in the cultural scene.”

At the same time, he looks forward to working with Ms. Hölbling: “Wiesbaden, a city of culture, is undergoing dynamic development. With Ms. Hölbling, the Cultural Office gains an experienced leader who focuses equally on cultural education, promotion, and participation.”

The Cultural Office is responsible for key tasks in municipal cultural promotion, event organization, and the management of important municipal cultural institutions. Under the new leadership, the strategic development of Wiesbaden’s cultural landscape will continue.
