Schierstein Harbor Festival: Information on Road Closures and Buses
Due to the Schierstein Harbor Festival, there will be road closures from Friday, July 10, through Tuesday, July 14. ESWE Verkehr will be running more articulated buses on the bus routes to and from Schierstein on all festival days. If necessary, and especially between 11 p.m. and midnight, additional trips (electric buses) will be provided.
Due to the Schierstein Harbor Festival, Kleinaustraße, Christian-Bücher-Straße, and Hafenstraße will be closed to vehicular traffic from Friday, July 10, at 1:00 p.m., until Tuesday, July 14, at 9:00 p.m. No-stopping zones will be established on the surrounding streets to allow for setup and to ensure access and emergency routes remain open. The exit roads leading from Reichsapfelstraße/Rheingaustraße toward Hafenstraße/Storchenallee will be open only to residents. A parking area for bicycles will be set up on Storchenallee. Pedestrians may use their usual routes.
Due to heavy visitor traffic, the Department of Traffic and City Police strongly urges visitors not to drive to the event site but to use the designated P+R parking lots and public transportation instead.
Festival-goers can reach the Schierstein Harbor Festival via the “Zeilstraße” stop (lines 5, 9, 18, 23, 45, and 47), the “Rathaus Schierstein” stop (lines 5 and 9), “Neckarstraße” (lines 5 and 9), or “Hafen” (line 23). For the return trip, ESWE Verkehr recommends the following stops in Schierstein: “Hafen” (lines 23 and N12), “Neckarstraße” (lines 5, 9, N3, and N9), “Reichsapfelstraße” (lines 5, 9, N3, and N9) or “Zeilstraße” (lines 5, 9, 18, 23, 45, N3, N9, and N12).
On all event days, night bus lines N3 and N9 will run according to schedule on the return trip from Schierstein toward downtown.
To ensure that everyone can attend without any worries and without the stress of searching for parking, ESWE Verkehr is once again offering the popular event ticket this year. The ticket costs 5.20 euros (adults) or 3.00 euros (children) and entitles the holder to a round-trip on public transportation throughout the entire fare zone 6500 (Wiesbaden, Mainz, and the surrounding area) on the respective event day. It is valid until 5:00 a.m. the following day or until the end of the last Nightliner trip. The event ticket is available wherever tickets are sold: at all advance sales locations, at ticket vending machines, and from the driver. Important: The ticket is only valid if it has been validated for both the outbound and return trips.
