Road Closures Due to the City Marathon
On Saturday, June 20, the fifth City Marathon will take place starting at 6:45 p.m., requiring extensive road closures and traffic restrictions in downtown Wiesbaden.
Due to construction work, Georg-August-Zinn-Straße between Spiegelgasse and Taunusstraße will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 2:00 p.m. Starting around 6:15 p.m., the race route will be closed: Start at Kranzplatz, Georg-August-Zinn-Straße, Taunusstraße, Nerotal (south side), turnaround point at Nerotal, Nerotal (north side), Taunusstraße, Sonnenberger Straße, An der Dietenmühle, Parkstraße, Kurhaus, Christian-Zais-Straße, Wilhelmstraße, Taunusstraße, Georg-August-Zinn-Straße, finish at Kranzplatz
Traffic disruptions due to road closures will occur along the race route and on intersecting streets. Significant traffic disruptions are therefore expected between 6:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Parking spaces along the race route will no longer be available starting at 11:00 a.m.
Road closures will be lifted gradually after the last runner has passed and will end no later than 11:59 p.m.
On Friday, June 19, the school class run will take place in the Kurpark from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Traffic disruptions will occur on Josef-von-Lauff-Straße during the run; traffic will be directed by the city police.
