Theatrium: Road closures and bus detour

Due to the Theatrium, there will be road closures and bus detour in Wiesbaden. This year's festival will once again take place in the area between Kureck (Sonnenberger Straße/Taunusstraße) and Friedrichstraße from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14.

Due to construction work, Burgstraße, Christian-Zais-Straße, and Wilhelmstraße will be closed to vehicular traffic starting Thursday, June 11, at 10 a.m. From that time on, Wilhelmstraße will also be closed to traffic coming from Rheinstraße, starting at the intersection with Luisenstraße. Traffic coming from Friedrichstraße can proceed to Rheinstraße via Wilhelmstraße or via Bierstadter Straße. The road closures will be lifted on Monday, June 15, at approximately 5 a.m.

Due to heavy visitor traffic, the Department of Traffic and City Police strongly urges people not to drive into the city but to use public transportation instead. Those who cannot do without a car should avoid the downtown area and use the surrounding P+R parking lots or parking garages. The Kurhaus/Casino parking garage will be accessible only from Sonnenberger Straße from Thursday through Sunday. Additional accessible parking spaces will be set up on Paulinenstraße for the duration of the event.

Bus lines 1, 8, 16, and N10 will be rerouted via Coulinstraße and Schwalbacher Straße during the event. For lines 16 and N10, this rerouting will take effect as early as Thursday, June 11, around 10 a.m.

Lines 1 and 8: In the direction of Nerotal, Eigenheim/Bahnholz, buses will travel from the “Rheinstraße/Rhein-Main-Congress-Center” stop via Bahnhofstraße to the “Dernsches Gelände C” stop. The detour then continues via Friedrichstraße and Schwalbacher Straße to the “Platz der Deutschen Einheit C” stop, then via Coulinstraße and Webergasse to the “Webergasse” stop, and from there back to the regular route. In the direction of Dürerplatz/Steinberger Straße, buses will depart from the “Kochbrunnen” stop, travel via Georg-August-Zinn-Straße and Webergasse to the on-demand stop “Webergasse.” The detour then continues via Coulinstraße and Schwalbacher Straße to the “Platz der Deutschen Einheit A” stop, then via Luisenstraße to the “Luisenplatz A” stop and via Bahnhofstraße, before the buses resume their regular route.

Line 16 and N10: In the direction of Hofgartenplatz/Rambach, buses depart from the “Luisenplatz B” stop, travel via Luisenstraße and Bahnhofstraße to the “Dernsches Gelände C” stop. The detour then continues via Friedrichstraße and Schwalbacher Straße to the “Platz der Deutschen Einheit C” stop, then via Coulinstraße and Webergasse to the “Webergasse” stop, and via Georg-August-Zinn-Straße, Taunusstraße, and Sonnenberger Straße to the “Kureck” stop. From there, buses resume their regular route. In the direction of Südfriedhof, buses will travel from the “Kureck” stop via Sonnenberger Straße, Taunusstraße, and Georg-August-Zinn-Straße to the “Kochbrunnen” stop. The detour then continues via Webergasse to the on-demand stop “Webergasse,” then via Coulinstraße and Schwalbacher Straße to the stop “Platz der Deutschen Einheit A” and to the stop “Schwalbacher Straße B.” After that, the route continues as usual.

Please take these changes into account when planning your trips and allow for extra time if necessary.
