The event was aimed at women who are reorienting their careers, wish to return to the workforce after taking time off to raise a family, or are seeking support for their future career development. This was the 15th time the event has been held.

Mayor Christiane Hinninger says: “The event demonstrated how important personal counseling and face-to-face interaction are. Many women are looking for new career opportunities, wish to gain additional qualifications, or want to restart their careers. We help them by providing guidance and concrete support services. Our information day provides the necessary inspiration and encouragement.” 

Andreas Kowol, Head of Social Affairs, says: “Equal opportunity in the job market doesn’t just happen on its own. It is crucial that women—regardless of their individual life situations—have access to quality counseling, training, and concrete career prospects. This requires strong networks and programs that actually reach people. The Information Day brings all of this together and thus makes an important contribution to labor market participation and social security.”

A “Market of Opportunities” took place at City Hall. There, institutions from Wiesbaden and the Rheingau-Taunus district presented their programs for counseling, education, and continuing education. Several women shared their personal journeys into the workforce. Their stories made it clear that professional integration and career development are achievable—with courage, perseverance, and the right support services.

The workshops and keynote presentations were particularly popular at the “Market of Opportunities”: They covered topics such as entering the workforce, modern job applications, resume reviews, balancing family and career, and re-entering the workforce after a career break. The workshops on strengths analysis and information about training and career opportunities in nursing and early childhood education also generated significant interest.

The annual Information Day is organized by the Municipal Women’s Affairs Office and the Equal Opportunity Officer for the Labor Market at the Wiesbaden Social Services and Job Center, in cooperation with the Equal Opportunity Officer for the Labor Market at the Wiesbaden Employment Agency, with the participation of numerous organizations from the Family and Career Working Group.
