City-internal data room

The internal data room enables efficient data exchange between city administration offices.

Efficient data exchange in the LHW

A lot of data is processed by the city administration—some of it is public, while other data must be protected.

The internal data room is a secure, digital location where municipal employees can exchange and share important, non-public data. This includes, for example, sensitive information that must be protected ("closed data") and cannot be published for various reasons.

In addition to the data room, work is currently underway to implement an open data platform. In the future, data that is accessible to everyone—i.e., citizens, businesses, and the scientific community—will be published there.

A city connected by data, represented by data points and padlocks on skyscrapers.

With its internal data room, the city ensures that even sensitive information can be shared securely and in compliance with the law.

The project is currently in the implementation phase. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2026.

The advantages:

  • Enables data exchange between offices
  • Improves data quality
  • Accelerates data-based decisions
  • Creates transparency and accessibility for city administration employees

Who benefits from it?

  • Administration: Offices, departments, companies and municipal enterprises can work together more easily and better on an interdisciplinary basis.
