The city of Wiesbaden has measuring devices at various locations.
Now there is also mobile data measurement:
Municipal cars have measuring devices on the roof.
Municipal cars are, for example, police cars or garbage trucks.
Urban cars collect data everywhere:
1. how good is the air?
2. how loud is it?
3. is the road bumpy?
This gives us measurement results from all over Wiesbaden.
Even from places
where no measurements have been taken so far.
We will carry out the mobile data measurement for one year.
From January 2025 to January 2026.
We'll check afterwards:
Is the mobile data measurement better
than the measurement at fixed locations?
Who is taking part?
1. experts from the Wiesbaden Environmental Agency
2. experts from the Hessian State Office for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology
Geology is the study of the earth.
Advantages:
1. we get information about the environmental pollution in the entire city.
2. we find out quickly
which roads are broken.
3. politics and administration can make better decisions.
4. we can plan better,
how to keep the air clean.
And we find out
where we need to do something about noise.
Who benefits from mobile data measurement?
1. citizens have better air and less noise.
2. politicians and city employees have more data.
This enables them to plan environmental protection and traffic better.
