Every two years, eligible young people elect their youth representatives.

The basis for the election of the Youth Parliament is a resolution passed by the City Council.

It was first elected in Wiesbaden on November 26, 2009.

The Youth Parliament consists of up to 31 directly elected members who represent the interests of Wiesbaden’s youth before the municipal bodies and their committees, as well as the local advisory councils. Its members are not bound by mandates or instructions. All residents of Wiesbaden between the ages of 14 and 22 are eligible to vote, regardless of their nationality.

The Youth Parliament election is conducted exclusively online. This means that every eligible voter receives login credentials by mail and can then participate in the election online. The next Youth Parliament election will take place in 2028.
