Department VI - Department for Social Affairs, Education and Housing
The task of the so-called Social Department is to create the conditions for all people in Wiesbaden to be an equal part of a solidary and diverse community. We offer social security, we educate, train and care for Wiesbaden's children, we open up opportunities and give hope in times of need. Our mission: We want to make our wonderful city more social!
As a link between a wide range of cooperation partners, citizens, politicians and the administration, we take on a mediating role in the departmental office. In close cooperation with our network of offices - consisting of the Social Benefits and Job Center and the Office for Social Work - we develop guidelines and seek dialogue. Committee meetings, public relations work and project management are of great importance here. Together with our almost 2,400 dedicated colleagues, we are passionately committed to a social, solidary and just urban society. In short: we promote social coexistence in Wiesbaden.
