In order to be able to drive a motor vehicle again after the driving license has been revoked, an application for a new license must be submitted. The driver's license is not automatically reissued. The driving license authority checks whether the applicant is fit to drive again.

current biometric photograph (a self-service terminal for digital image capture is available. Costs 6,00 Euro)
Eye test certificate (not older than two years)
First aid certificate
for newly issued categories C1, C, C1E, CE and/or D1, D, D1E, DE: Medical certificate (not older than one year) ophthalmologist's certificate (not older than two years)
Performance certificate from an occupational physician for categories D1, D, D1E and DE only (not older than one year, with the following contents: Resilience, orientation ability, concentration ability, attention performance, reaction ability).
Fees
The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).

Remark
The application can be submitted at the earliest three months before the expiry of the blocking period.
Personal presentation is required
Persons who drive a truck or bus for a living are obliged to provide proof of a basic qualification or further training in the future. The obligation to provide proof applies to persons who hold or are applying for a driving license for categories C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D and DE. This only applies if the driving license is to be used commercially in road haulage or passenger transport.
