The driving license application for the first driving license for categories AM, A1, A2, A, B, BE, L and T can be submitted online. The applicant can enter the required data, upload the biometric photo, signature and all supporting documents from the comfort of their own home. The online application even has a "selfie" function that can be used to upload the photo. The biometrics are ensured by software from Bundesdruckerei. The applicant is authenticated conveniently and securely via the activated online ID function of the ID card, the electronic residence permit or the eID card via the "federal user account". You can also authenticate yourself with the online ID function without a user account via the temporary login of the "Federal user account".
For the categories AM, A1, A2, A, B, BE, L and T are required:
Online ID card: For this you need:
An identity card, electronic residence permit with activated online ID function or eID card, as well as your PIN.
Federal user account (authentication via the temporary login of the federal user account ( no need to create an extra account here, simply log in as a guest).
Image file or smartphone: You can upload your current biometric photo as an image file or take a photo using the "selfie" function on your smartphone. The photo sample table (see link below) shows what your photo should look like. We recommend taking the photos in front of a single-colored wall (without any distracting objects in the background). Also make sure that your mouth is closed.

The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).
