Birth registrations are currently experiencing particularly long processing times. It may take up to eight weeks to receive an initial response. The subsequent processing may take additional time, depending on the individual case, the required documents, and the necessary reviews. We therefore recommend registering the birth well in advance of the birth. This can speed up processing after the birth. 

Please refrain from submitting status inquiries during the specified timeframe. These inquiries will also be processed within the stated processing times. By doing so, you help prevent further delays in processing all requests.

Even before the child is born—but no earlier than the start of the 25th week of pregnancy—the Wiesbaden Registry Office offers the option to complete all formalities in advance. Please provide the expected due date and the hospital where the birth is scheduled to take place. You can find more information on this in the parent information packet linked below.

Note: Have you already registered a child in Wiesbaden or gotten married here, and are your details still up to date? If so, prenatal registration is not necessary. Please fill out the birth notification form completely and legibly at the hospital. Unmarried parents should please refer to our information sheet on acknowledgment of paternity and naming.
