The current processing time for birth registrations is approximately 6 weeks. We therefore recommend registering the birth before the baby is born. This will help speed up the processing after the birth.

Please understand that we cannot respond to inquiries about the status of your application during the first few weeks. This additional processing would further extend wait times for everyone involved.

Even before the child is born—but no earlier than the start of the 25th week of pregnancy—the Wiesbaden Registry Office offers the option to complete all formalities in advance. Please send us your documents digitally, and we’ll take care of everything. To do so, please use our digital mailbox (opens in a new tab). 

Please provide the expected due date and the hospital where the birth is scheduled to take place. You can find more information on this in the parent information packet linked below.

Note: Have you already registered a child in Wiesbaden or gotten married here, and are your details still up to date? Then prenatal registration is not necessary. Please fill out the birth notification form completely and legibly at the hospital. Unmarried parents should refer to our information sheet on acknowledgment of paternity and naming.
