Current Processing Times 

Due to staffing shortages, there are currently wait times of several weeks for the processing of requests. This particularly affects responses to emails, scheduling appointments, and case processing.

Birth registrations are currently particularly affected by longer processing times. An initial response may take up to eight weeks. The subsequent processing may take additional time, depending on the individual case, the required documents, and necessary reviews.

We therefore recommend registering the birth well in advance of the delivery. This can speed up processing after the birth. Pre-register a birth (opens in a new tab)

Please refrain from inquiring about the status of your application during the specified period. The additional time required to address such inquiries would further tie up existing resources and thereby extend processing times for all citizens.
