WI-Box
ID cards and passports that have been applied for, civil status certificates, other documents, and lost and found items can be picked up at the WI-Box outside of the authorities’ business hours. The WI-Box is a pickup station operated by the Wiesbaden Public Order Office and functions similarly to pickup stations used by delivery services.
For example, if you apply for an ID card, instead of picking it up in person during office hours, you can specify the WI-Box as your pickup location. To ensure secure pickup, you must set up a PIN. As soon as your ID is ready for pickup at the WI-Box, you’ll receive an email with a barcode. To retrieve your ID, you can either scan the barcode at the WI-Box or manually enter the six-digit code below it. You will then need to enter your PIN for identification. This two-factor authentication ensures a high level of security, which is required for picking up ID cards and passports. The PIN is not required for picking up documents, civil status certificates, or lost and found items.
Your item will be available for pickup in the WI-Box for 7 days.
The WI-Box is located at two sites. The first WI-Box is in the city center in front of the Citizens’ Office. Another WI-Box is located at the Kastel/Kostheim local administration office.
You can watch the instructional video (opens in a new tab) to see how the WI-Box works.
