Building supervision

Flying buildings

Temporary structures are structures that are suitable and intended to be repeatedly erected and dismantled at different locations. Construction site equipment and scaffolding are not considered temporary structures.

Temporary structures may generally—notwithstanding other regulations—be put into use only if their erection has been reported to the building authority at the site of erection, along with submission of the inspection log, and the temporary structures have been approved by that authority (final inspection).

There is a fee for the submission of the inspection log and for the acceptance for use.

The following temporary structures do not require a final inspection:

  • Temporary structures up to five meters in height that are not intended to be entered by visitors,
  • single-story tents with a floor area of up to 75 square meters,
  • children’s rides with a speed of less than one meter per second and a height of less than five meters,
  • stages, provided their floor area is less than 100 square meters, their floor height is less than 1.50 meters, and their total height—including roofing and other structures—is less than five meters,
  • inflatable play structures with an accessible area height of up to five meters,
  • portable restrooms.

This list is not exhaustive—further information can be found in the information sheet under "Links and Downloads."
