The reading festival "Wiesbaden reads in summer" invites you to exciting events until September 18. Jörg Jordan, Mo Enders and Christian Linker will be guests in July.

July 24: Mo Enders - Liga Lexis, Blood Red Ink

Author Mo Enders will be reading from her fantasy novel "Liga Lexis - Blutrote Tinte" for young people aged 14 and over on Thursday, July 24, at 4 p.m. at Haus an der Marktkirche on Schlossplatz 4. Admission is free, but registration is requested!

Mo Enders, born in 1983, roamed between the lines of countless books as a child, tried to give the child empress a name or fly with an umbrella. Today she tells her own stories and has the best job in the world. When she's not living in books, she lives in Berlin. The Liga Lexis is in turmoil: Lady Hamilton, the protagonist of a world-famous bestseller, has been murdered! Several agents and teachers from Bookford Manor are immediately dispatched to solve the case. But not all of them return alive. While Annie's feelings are still completely confused by Caspian's strange behavior, she has no time to spare. Because she is the only one who can get into the destroyed book via the interlineas - the world between the lines. But in her wildest dreams she could never have imagined who she would meet there! The trail of this person leads her into a whole new world behind the worlds ...


July 31: Christian Linker reads from "Back to Mars"

On Thursday, July 31, Christian Linker will be reading from his book "Back to Mars -Kampf um die Freiheit" for children aged ten and over at Haus an der Marktkirche, Schlossplatz 4. Registration is requested!

In the year 2100, thirteen-year-old Will leads a happy life on Earth - until he receives a call for help from his friends Jonto and Solnik: the two have been abducted by the secret service ARES during a visit to the Mars colonies! They have allegedly spoken out against the dictatorial regime on the Red Planet. And the earthly government cannot help them.
Will and his friends set off on an adventurous rescue mission in which not only their future is at stake - but that of the whole of Mars.


July 31: Sabine Gramenz & Malte Kühn

Sabine Gramenz & Malte Kühn will be giving a concert on Thursday, July 31, at 7.30 pm on Luisenplatz, near Rheinstraße. Admission is free - just come along!

Robert Gilbert (1899 - 1978) was not only the author of such popular songs as "Ein Freund, ein guter Freund", "Das ist die Liebe der Matrosen" or "Das gibt's nur einmal, das kommt nie wieder", he was also politically active and wrote workers' struggle songs similar to those of Brecht. And after his return from exile in the USA after the Second World War, he translated the musical
musical "My Fair Lady" into German: "Es grünt so grün, wenn Spaniens Blüten blühen" was also penned by him.
At this concert, he is joined by Bruno Balz (1902 - 1988). On the one hand, he wrote some of the best-known hits
Nazi propaganda films, but on the other hand he himself was persecuted by the Nazis. Against the
Against the background of his biography, the ambiguity of his lyrics becomes clear: "Can love be a sin?", "I know, a miracle will happen one day" ... He celebrated his last great success with the hit "Wir wollen niemals auseinander gehen", premiered in 1960 - here in Wiesbaden.
