With the Silent Hour, sam is setting an example for greater accessibility, consideration and cultural participation in the heart of Wiesbaden.

Starting May 14, 2026, the sam – Stadtmuseum am Markt will participate in Wiesbaden’s “Quiet Hour” initiative. Every Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m., the museum experience in the Marktkeller will be intentionally designed to be less stimulating.

During this time, sam creates a quieter atmosphere for people who are sensitive to light, noise, conversation, or visual stimuli. This includes, for example, people on the autism spectrum, those with ADHD, dementia, migraines, long COVID, chronic pain, or exhaustion. All other visitors who appreciate a relaxed museum visit are also welcome.

During the Quiet Hour, noise is reduced as much as possible. There are no large group tours or loud programs. The team ensures quiet speech, low-noise operations, and a relaxed atmosphere in the entrance and ticket areas. Seating is available in the museum.

With the Quiet Hour, the sam is setting an example for greater accessibility, consideration, and cultural participation right in the heart of Wiesbaden.
