Jens Zemke
On August 27, 2001, Jens Zemke signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.
Jens Zemke was born in Wiesbaden on October 17, 1966.
Between 1995 and 2001, he was a professional cyclist and won the German mountain championship three times and the Tour of Hesse in 1998.
To bid farewell to the prominent son of the city from active cycling, the first Wiesbaden cycling race "Rund ums Rathaus" was held on August 27, 2001. In the run-up to the race, a reception was held for the athletes, which was repeatedly delayed by the numerous requests for autographs from hundreds of fans.
Finally, Lord Mayor Diehl was able to admit that he was an ardent admirer of the cyclists, who regularly put in grueling efforts.
Jens Zemke then signed the city's Golden Book, followed by his colleagues Jan Ullrich, Erik Zabel and others.
