Bus and train in Wiesbaden

The planning and organization of local public transport by bus and rail is the responsibility of various public authorities.

Local rail passenger transport (SPNV) - including regional express and regional train lines and the S-Bahn - is organized by the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV). The Zweckverband ÖPNV Rheinland-Pfalz Süd (ZÖPNV RLP Süd) is also responsible for organizing connections to neighbouring Rhineland-Palatinate.

Responsibility for local public transport (city bus services) lies with the Wiesbaden City Council. It uses the local public transport organization to perform the associated tasks.

The range of local and regional bus services includes various bus products:

  • City bus routes
  • Night bus lines (Nightliner)
  • On-demand services (AST lines)
  • School bus services (e-trips)
  • Regional express bus lines (X-lines)
  • Regional and local bus routes

ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH operates bus services on local routes within the Wiesbaden city area on behalf of the state capital of Wiesbaden.
