The exercise will focus on setting up and operating a treatment site for up to 50 injured people, as well as managing an accident involving a large number of victims. Fire departments, emergency medical services, disaster response units, and hospitals will practice the entire care chain, from rescue and first aid to the coordination of transportation and on to admission and further treatment at hospitals.

The main training period is from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Most of the exercises will take place on the grounds of the Hessian University of Applied Sciences for Public Management and Security (HöMS), Schönbergstraße 100. Training will also take place at the Helios Dr. Horst Schmidt Clinics, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 90, at St. Josefs Hospital, Beethovenstraße 20, at the Asklepios Paulinen Clinic, Geisenheimer Straße 10, and at the German Red Cross’s Missing Persons Center, Flachstraße 6. Only authorized personnel may enter the drill sites. Members of the public will not be able to observe the drill as spectators. 

Numerous emergency vehicles will be traveling between the drill site and the hospitals. Some of the disaster response units will be traveling in closed convoys. As a result, traffic disruptions may occur at times, particularly in the vicinity of the HöMS and the hospitals.  Road users are asked to drive with extra caution, to immediately yield the right of way to emergency vehicles with blue lights and sirens, and not to interrupt closed convoys. 

The civil defense helicopter “Christoph 2” is also expected to participate in the exercise. Air traffic and associated noise should be expected at landing sites.

The city asks all citizens and residents living near the exercise locations for their understanding regarding any potential disruptions.
