Postal voting documents for the municipal elections on March 15, 2026

Exclusively for citizens of the state capital Wiesbaden. Other eligible voters must submit the application at their main place of residence.

Ballot paper

Voters who do not wish to vote at their designated polling station require a voting certificate. This certificate allows them to vote at any polling station within the state capital of Wiesbaden in the relevant local district.

Postal vote

Those who are unable to visit a polling station on election day can participate in the election by postal vote.

Power of attorney

Anyone who is ill or otherwise unable to do so may authorize a person they trust to collect the ballot (see the back of the election notification).

Polling cards will be sent out by February 22, 2026, at the latest.

The authorized representative needs a written power of attorney and must declare in writing that they are acting on behalf of no more than four people.

In writing

Postal voting can be requested in writing by filling out the back of the election notification and sending it in a stamped envelope to the State Capital of Wiesbaden, Election Office, Friedrichstraße 16, 65140 Wiesbaden. The application must be signed by hand.

Please note! Written applications for postal voting documents require considerably more processing time than online or QR code applications. For this reason, the Election Office asks that you refrain from submitting written applications.

    Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (no longer on March 14, 2026)

Opening hours

The postal voting office in the polling station is only staffed six weeks before each election, but the above telephone number can also be reached outside of election times.
