Direct award of local public transport services

Pursuant to the Hessian Public Transport Act (ÖPNVG), the state capital of Wiesbaden, as the responsible authority, is also the competent local authority for awarding public service contracts to ensure local public transport services in Wiesbaden.
ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH has been entrusted with the operation of local public transportation (ÖPNV). The current contract runs until October 2027.
The state capital of Wiesbaden intends to award ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH a subsequent public service contract for a term of 15 years beginning October 1, 2027. This notice of intent to award the contract was published in TED on March 16, 2026, under number 180928-2026 (link under Links and Downloads).
