Note: Applicants and owners who have an information block entered in the register of residents are advised to present a registration certificate at the time of their visit. If a registration certificate is not presented, processing may be delayed or the application may even be rejected, as a manual query must then be made at the citizens' office.

Valid main inspection (HU) and safety inspection (SP), if applicable
New identity card (nPA) or electronic residence permit (eAT) with activated online ID function (eID), as well as a designated card reader or a smartphone with free "AusweisApp2"(ausweisapp.bund.de). After registration, the personal data from the ID card is automatically transferred to the online application.

Fees
The fees range from EUR 11 to EUR 50. The exact amount of the costs can only be determined after reviewing the complete documentation. The basis for the amount of the fee is the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).
In the event of a late change of address, a warning fine may be levied (see information sheet on warning fines).
If the applicant is to be represented for the change of address in the vehicle documents, the person representing the applicant must be given a written power of attorney and a valid identity card or passport must be handed over for presentation.
