Regulatory offenses in road traffic

Information on Traffic Violations

In order to penalize traffic violations in a legally sound manner, it is necessary to precisely specify the alleged offense and substantiate it with a complete chain of evidence. Consequently, proceedings will only be initiated if the private complaint is accompanied by conclusive photographic evidence that clearly identifies and proves the violation.

Please note that only violations involving parked vehicles can be reported. You can file a report by clicking the “Report a Traffic Violation” link in the “Links and Downloads” section of this website.

If administrative proceedings are initiated, your name will be listed as a witness in the proceedings. Please note in this context that, for data protection reasons, no information regarding the progress of administrative proceedings can be provided.

To ensure that your administrative offense report can be processed, you are asked to fill out all required fields completely and upload the necessary supporting photos.

The prosecution of traffic administrative offenses by the competent regulatory authority is governed by the principle of discretionary prosecution. This means that it is within the discretion of the regulatory authority to determine whether an administrative offense will be prosecuted and proceedings initiated.
