Funding program - Cultural education in schools
Since 2021, the Department of Culture has been supporting cultural education projects at schools with a funding program.
The goal of this funding is to encourage active engagement with culture, to introduce students to new and unfamiliar forms of work and expression, and thereby to open up opportunities that are not available in regular classroom instruction. In 2026, the state capital of Wiesbaden once again allocated funds for cultural education projects in schools. A call for project ideas was issued before the summer break. A panel of experts decided on the award of funding.
The Cultural Affairs Office has the authority to make its own decisions regarding smaller projects with a budget of up to 800 euros. Applications may be submitted at any time—regardless of the committee’s decision or the deadline—using the appropriate application form on the online portal, subject to the availability of funds. Note: Funding for projects in the new school semester has been exhausted.
Project applications under 800 euros may be submitted again starting in January 2027, subject to the city’s budget decisions.

Application deadline
Schools and their cultural partners can apply using the application form on the online portal. Project proposals exceeding 800 euros for the first semester of the new 2026–27 school year may be submitted immediately through May 25, 2026. The deadline for a potential additional funding round will be announced here in due course.
