Local transportation plan
The fourth local transport plan for the state capital of Wiesbaden was adopted in 2024 and developed for the second time together with the local transport plan for the Rheingau-Taunus district.
The obligation of the local authorities as public transport authorities to draw up local public transport plans results from the provisions of the Passenger Transport Act (PBefG) and the Hesse Public Transport Act (ÖPNVG Hessen).
The first local transport plan (NVP) of the state capital of Wiesbaden was adopted on February 15, 2001 by the city council of the state capital of Wiesbaden and has been continuously developed since then.
According to Section 14 (8) sentence 2 ÖPNVG Hessen, a decision must be made every five years at the latest as to whether the local transport plan should be revised. The municipal council was commissioned to update the local transport plan at the municipal council meeting on 15.07.2021. The currently valid fourth local transport plan for the state capital of Wiesbaden was adopted by the city council in December 2024.
