Wiesbaden Äpplerfest

Wiesbaden invites you to the Äpplerfest at Mauritiusplatz on Friday and Saturday, October 9 and 10. For two days, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., everything will revolve around this versatile, most-consumed fruit.

A crate of apples at the market

Wiesbaden is once again hosting its apple festival: On Friday and Saturday, October 9 and 10, 2026, the Äpplerfest will take place for the fifth time—this year for the first time at Mauritiusplatz. From 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day, visitors can look forward to a varied program featuring music, culinary delights, interesting facts about apples, and numerous hands-on activities for all ages.

Music, a cooking show, and interesting facts about apples

On Friday, the program will feature a performance by André Coluccelli, among others, as well as a presentation by the Heinz Schenk Foundation and a cooking show by Kochatelier65 under the theme "Apples Meet the Atelier—Hessian, Modern, Surprising." "Die Tiefgespritzten" will provide musical entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening. An apple tasting with “Hof Erbenheim” and a Hessian product tasting featuring typical Hessian specialties, such as Grüne Soße and Handkäs’, round out the program.

On Saturday, the “Männerquartett Nordend” and the “Moosbach-Kehlchen” will perform pop hits, followed by musical entertainment from “Evas Apfel” and “Captain Bembel & die Feingerippte,” among others.

From Äppler to apple fritters

Culinary highlights over the two days will also center on apples and Hessian specialties. Various cider presses and vendors will present, among other things, apple wine, apple secco, juices, and non-alcoholic options. There will also be specialties such as variations on “Handkäs” and apple fritters. Even Basque apple wine, known as “sidra,” will be featured by the San Sebastián Sister City Association. Various apple varieties and exhibits showcasing how the fruit is processed will also provide insights into the diversity of local fruit cultivation.

Apple Pie Contest

Another highlight is the apple pie contest on Saturday afternoon. Together with the Apple Royalty, the submitted pies will be judged and the winners will be honored. Afterward, guests will have the opportunity to get to know the Apple Royalty better. We’re still looking for amateur bakers who’d like to contribute a homemade apple cake to the contest. Those interested can register at eventpalastpromotionde.

Activities for the youngest guests

There's plenty for kids to discover on both days, too. In addition to face painting, "Das Sahnehäubchen" invites children to get creative with a variety of hands-on activities, games, and arts and crafts.
