Brief description:

In 90 ritualized workshops over three school semesters, pupils from different educational and life backgrounds experience how a sustainable connection to the living world can be created. They are part of a process-based, participatory learning project.

The pandemic-related work with smaller, fixed groups led to the realization that a pedagogy aimed at falling in love with the world and encountering it respectfully can only succeed through continuous, process-based collaboration with children and young people. Teachers at Schloss Freudenberg confirm time and again that fewer one-off excursions are needed, but more recurring experiences that enable change, relationships and deepening.

The "Education that lasts" project creates precisely these spaces. The recurring, participatory structure strengthens mindfulness, co-creation and sensory experience. The impetus for this co-creative development comes from many years of practice at the Freudenberg Castle Field of Experience. There, the focus is on combining learning, perception and action.

The educational work at Freudenberg Castle is intended to resonate. In addition to pupils, the project is therefore aimed specifically at teachers and educators. They are involved in the project in general, as well as the workshops and visits in particular. The organizers support them in finding and developing a personal approach to "nature", its care and development. As role models, teachers can strengthen young people's ability to approach nature with an open heart. In this way, extracurricular learning experiences can have an impact on the education system.
