Honorary citizen by resolution of the city council on September 21, 2006

He deserves thanks and recognition for his work in local politics, initially as a member of the city council from 1968 to 1973. Under his aegis as head of urban development from 1973 to 1979, many important construction projects were realized in Wiesbaden, such as the thermal baths, the main sewage treatment plant, the Palasthotel complex, the restoration of the Villa Clementine and the Hessian State Theatre.

He was particularly committed to the preservation and redevelopment of City East, the Bergkirchenviertel and the Schiffchen, as well as the design of the city center.

From 1980 to 1987, Jörg Jordan made his mark in state politics, first as State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry for Regional Development, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry and from 1991 to 1995 as Hessian Minister for Regional Development, Housing, Agriculture, Forestry and Nature Conservation.

As Managing Director of the Frankfurt project development company OFB Group, Jordan contributed with his great expertise and detailed knowledge of our city to the successful redevelopment of the former Hotel Rose into the current seat of the Hessian State Chancellery.

His voluntary work in many nature conservation associations, in the One World Movement, in the Friends of the Fasanerie Zoo and the recently founded Association for the Promotion of the Wiesbaden City Archives deserves special mention.
