New catering partner for the Kurhaus Wiesbaden
With Gaul Catering GmbH & Co. KG, a new caterer has been found for the Kurhaus Wiesbaden as of January 1, 2026.
On the basis of an EU-wide tendering procedure, a partner was found in the owner-managed company Gaul Catering GmbH & Co. KG following a thorough selection process. The existing lease expires at the end of the year.
The caterer will initially start work in event catering and the casino on January 1, 2026. The beer garden will then open at Easter. The traditional restaurant in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden will be set up for the future: TriWiCon, operator of the Kurhaus with its catering operations, is currently working on a comprehensive refurbishment concept for the entire Kurhaus Wiesbaden and also for the refurbishment of the restaurant's kitchen area.
"With Gaul Catering, Kurhaus Wiesbaden has gained an experienced catering partner that has been successfully catering for major events, business events, trade fairs and sports events with several thousand guests for more than 30 years," says Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs Christiane Hinninger, expressing her satisfaction with the outcome of the award procedure. "In future, synergies between Kurhaus Wiesbaden and the RMCC can also be used, for example in capacity or logistics planning."
Andreas Gaul, Managing Director of Gaul Catering GmbH & Co KG, is equally positive: "After very intensive discussions, we are delighted to have found a good basis for a sound and successful collaboration. We have great respect for this special task and will take it on with great ambition."
Gaul Catering has been the exclusive catering partner of the RheinMain CongressCenter since 2022. They also operate other locations as trade fair and event caterers, including the MEWA Arena in Mainz, the darmstadtium and the congress center in Karlsruhe, and bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.
The concession for the gastronomic management of the Kurhaus Wiesbaden will be awarded on the basis of a service concession agreement with a basic term of five years. There is an option to extend the contractual relationship twice for a total of five years each time.
New catering concept
At the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, Gaul Catering will in future be focusing on a culinary concept that combines a French attitude to life with Hessian roots. Gaul Catering offers various formats for events at the Kurhaus - from flying dinners and buffets with live cooking to high-quality staged menus. Short transport routes, cooperation with local producers, the range of vegetarian catering concepts and the reduction of disposable packaging are at the heart of Gaul's sustainability concept and thus also contribute to the sustainable use of resources.
About the Kurhaus Wiesbaden
Kurhaus Wiesbaden hosts events almost every day throughout the year. In 2025, there were over 400 events: Congresses, conferences, exhibitions, award ceremonies, a large number of concerts and guest performances as well as gala dinners and private events such as weddings. The high demand and capacity utilization of the Kurhaus proves the unbroken attractiveness of the historic building, which was built in 1907.
Background to the award procedure
The current tenant of Kurhaus Gastronomie gave up the operation of the restaurant and event catering at the end of the year due to the expiring contract.
The new award procedure had begun in September 2024 as scheduled by the lessor of the Kurhaus gastronomy, TriWiCon. The award procedure provided for the continuation of the catering business, and thus also the provision of the banqueting business, from January 1, 2026. As no agreement could be reached on the conclusion of a new contract within the planned period and no successful bid was received, the award procedure was canceled on June 4, 2025. On June 5, 2025, TriWiCon initiated a new award procedure for the catering services at Kurhaus Wiesbaden, which was successfully completed in December 2025.
