Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende expresses his gratitude to the state on behalf of the city, saying: “Just as we as a city have invested in disaster response in and around Wiesbaden, so too has the state. The mobile fuel station and the two special trailers further improve the supply of fuel to emergency responders and enhance the safety of Wiesbaden’s residents.”

The roll-off tank container is a mobile fueling station. It can transport 7,000 liters of aviation or diesel fuel and supplies fuel to disaster response fire engines or helicopters during wildfires or other major emergencies. A delegation from the Igstadt Volunteer Fire Department will take charge of the roll-off container. To operate the mobile fueling station, members of the Igstadt Volunteer Fire Department were trained as hazardous materials drivers. They work closely with the Hessian Police Aviation Squadron in Egelsbach when deploying the fueling station.

The special support trailer is specifically designed for disaster response. It enables support units to quickly transport supplies for the care, shelter, and support of people in need or emergency responders to the scene of the incident. The trailer is managed by the German Red Cross (DRK).

The “Versorgung Plus” refrigerated trailer is also used in disaster response and is stationed with the Workers’ Samaritan Federation (ASB). It is used for logistics, supplying emergency responders, and supporting support units during large-scale operations.
