Digi-Lotsen is expanding its services at Zukunftswerk: Additional consultation hours for seniors starting in September
There is a great deal of interest in the open digital consultation hours offered by the Digi-Lotsen at Zukunftswerk Wiesbaden. Since the program began, numerous seniors have taken advantage of the opportunity to receive free, in-person assistance with questions about smartphones, tablets, laptops, and digital applications. Due to high demand, an additional monthly session will be added starting in September and continuing through the end of the year.
“Digital services are meant to make life easier. That can only happen if people can use them safely and on their own terms. The Digi-Guides take the time to answer personal questions and explain things in a way that’s easy to understand. I’m very pleased that we can now expand the consultation hours,” says Maral Koohestanian, Director of Smart City, Europe, and Public Order.
During the open consultation hours, volunteer Digi-Guides provide individualized support to seniors with questions about digital devices and applications. Whether it’s WhatsApp, online banking, scheduling appointments, electronic health records, or using the internet safely: the advice is tailored to the personal questions of the visitors.
“The questions people come to us with vary widely. That’s why we take our time and work together on the specific device to find a solution. With the additional consultation hours, we can offer this personalized support even more frequently,” says Rainer Lindhauer, digital guide and coordinator of “Digital im Alter.”
The consultation hours take place every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Zukunftswerk Wiesbaden in the Luisenforum, Kirchgasse 6, 2nd floor by the bridge.
Scheduled dates: September 9, October 7, November 18, December 9.
Additional dates starting in September: September 30, October 21, November 25, December 16.
Participation is free of charge; registration is not required.
To expand this program in the long term and support even more people, we are looking for additional volunteer “Digi-Lotsinnen” and “Digi-Lotsen.” Anyone who enjoys helping seniors navigate digital media and sharing their knowledge is warmly invited to support this initiative.
