A certificate of residence serves as proof of registration of residence. It must contain at least the following information specified in Section 18(1) of the Federal Registration Act (BMG):

Last name, first names (with the commonly used first name indicated), doctoral degree, date of birth, current addresses (distinguished as primary and secondary residences).

Upon request, this information can be supplemented with the details specified in Section 18(2) of the Federal Registration Act (BMG), thereby allowing for the issuance of an expanded certificate of residence (e.g., marital status, nationality).
