It's coffee time!
Spending a morning or afternoon in a café - there's nothing better. Here is a selection of our favorite places!
The sociable: Kaufmanns am Markt
The perfect place to stop by for a coffee before or after the market and a popular meeting place for Wiesbaden residents!
The high-quality beans are refined using a traditional roasting process, in which the temperature, roasting time, and degree of roasting are specially tailored to each variety. This allows each of the specialty coffees to develop its individual character to the fullest—the basis for the intense flavor of the espressos and filter coffees.
Tip: The roastery offers a barista and latte art course. (opens in a new tab)
Address: Marktstraße 12
The French: L'Art sucrée
At L'Art sucré, things are done the old-fashioned way—in the best sense of the word. The sweet creations, from tartlets and macarons to raisin rolls, are handmade in the traditional way using timeless ingredients such as butter, eggs, cream, fruit, nuts, and homemade bean-to-bar chocolate. Everything is beautiful – the counter with its fine patisserie, the lovingly designed sales room, and the café that transports you to Paris in the blink of an eye.
Address: Marktstraße 9
The classic: Café Maldaner
Café Maldaner was opened in 1859 by master baker Adam Maldaner. The traditional café began as a small coffee house and has developed over time into one of the most famous Viennese coffee houses in Germany.
One moment you're in the pedestrian zone in Wiesbaden, and the next, after passing through the wooden revolving door, you're transported back to the 19th century – thanks to the wooden counter with homemade cakes, tartlets, and pralines, the chandeliers, figurines, and waiters and waitresses in livery. Be sure to make a reservation, especially if you want to have breakfast there, for example before or after a visit to the market.
Address: Marktstraße 34
The Portuguese: Lx. Café
The LX Café brings the taste of the Atlantic coast right to Wiesbaden! The menu features both savory and sweet dishes from Portugal. In addition to the famous Pastéis de Nata, the café also offers surf bowls—breakfast bowls layered with ingredients such as chia pudding and fresh fruit.
Address: Herderstraße 18, 65185 Wiesbaden
The flowery one: drink&bloom
At "drink&bloom" in the Poets' Quarter, Vanessa Dyrda offers coffee specialties, drinks, croissants, fresh cakes, and cut flowers. She arranges the beautiful wildflower bouquets herself. Child-sized chairs await young guests on the terrace. They can help themselves to toys from the toy box or get creative with chalk. And as a special extra, there's a free "babyccino" made from light and airy frothed milk.
Address: Kleiststraße 2
The cozy: here & now
Here and now, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast—or treat yourself to a slice of really good cake. Whether it's moist lemon cake or apple crumble made with local apples—there's something for every taste here. The hit: cardamom knots! The menu also includes bread with hummus or cheese and homemade lemonades. The bread is very, very good because hier & jetzt has its own bakery. Everything is organic, and the bread is freshly baked every morning!
The hip: Overflow
The Overflow in the old town is a meeting place for all generations, who are treated to croissants, quiches, cicchetti, and homemade cakes. Creative workshops, readings, evenings with live music, films, and open mic sessions are also offered, where you can spontaneously perform on stage if you feel like it.

The vintage café: Stadtkind
Panini, matcha, and homemade cakes—you can get all of this at Stadtkind on Wagemannstraße. A place to arrive, take a deep breath, and stay—right in the middle of the old town, designed with lots of love.
