Change of address within Wiesbaden
If you are moving within Wiesbaden, you must re-register at the Citizens’ Office or a local administrative office.
If you are under 16 years of age, the person in whose residence you are moving is responsible for updating your registration. If you are of legal age and have a guardian or conservator who has the authority to determine your place of residence, that person is responsible for updating your registration.
If you are moving your primary residence within Wiesbaden, you can complete the change of address online:
- To do so, you’ll need a German ID card or eID card with the online ID function (opens in a new tab) activated, including a PIN (click here (opens in a new tab)).
- If you do not have the online ID function, you can complete the change of address using the video identification procedure (opens in a new tab).
When updating your registration with the registration office, you must submit written confirmation from the landlord or a person authorized by the landlord (landlord’s confirmation (opens in a new tab)).
We are happy to assist you in person, but we operate exclusively by appointment. You can quickly and easily book an appointment online with the Citizens’ Office or the local administrative offices using the appointment calendar.
