Red or white?

White

Riesling or Burgundy?

Riesling

Your current favorite wine?

I like mature, spicy Rieslings that have also been aged in wooden barrels - especially when it's a bit cooler outside and the food is a bit more hearty. In summer, I like to drink fresh and light, aromatic white wines, such as a Gelber Muskateller or Sauvignon Blanc.

Your favorite wine bar?

In fact, I prefer to go to the estate taverns or the wine taverns of local winegrowers. I can particularly recommend the Riesling Pier (opens in a new tab) in Hallgarten, the Sommer Strauße from the Dillmann winery (opens in a new tab) in Geisenheim or the Straußwirtschaft from the Mohr winery (opens in a new tab) in Lorch (delicious Turkish meze!).

Your favorite wine tasting stand?

The Fässchen in Walluf (opens in a new tab) - before and after the remodeling😊. The atmosphere there is almost Mediterranean - with a view of the water. A glass of Riesling and a pizza from the local pizzeria = the perfect summer evening!

Your favorite wine festival?

Oh dear, that's really difficult for me to answer as I love our local wine festivals and actually go to a different one every weekend in summer. I particularly like the Rheingau Wine Week (opens in a new tab) because everyone comes together there. You meet all the winegrowers from the Rheingau in one place, it really has a family feel to it. But I also particularly like the many small wine festivals in the villages. If I had to name a wine festival, it would be the Hochheim Wine Festival (opens in a new tab) in Hochheim's old town and vineyards - something special every time. The Rheingau Gourmet Weeks (opens in a new tab) are also an excellent opportunity to get to know the local wineries and their new vintages while enjoying regional delicacies.

Your favorite picnic spot?

"My little bench" in the Frauenstein vineyards - it was set up there a few years ago by the Klepper winery on its vines. From there you have a wonderful view of the Frauenstein vineyards, the surrounding hills and forests.

Your perfect wine moment?

Always in company and outside - together with my loved ones. And something delicious to snack on - perfect!
