Hessen à la carte is a cooperation of Hessian regional cuisine. Over 100 member establishments from the various regions of Hessen form the oldest regional quality association in Germany. The establishments can be recognized by the red and white Hessen à la carte membership symbol and the certification certificate.
Hessian cuisine is regional, traditional, innovative, original and sustainable. All members are certified every 3 years according to a 10-point criteria catalog. These include the origin of the food and drinks, the processing of fresh raw materials, the use of quality and quality seals and hygiene standards.
35 years of restaurant cooperation "Hessen à la carte"
The restaurant cooperation "Hessen à la carte" celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2025 and has been a beacon project for regional cuisine and hospitality for over three decades. Managed by DEHOGA Hessen e.V., "Hessen à la carte" is a unique quality initiative that sustainably promotes the culinary diversity and traditions of the federal state and offers guests authentic insights into the art of Hessian cuisine.
Since its foundation in 1990, the cooperation has grown steadily and now includes over 130 restaurants dedicated to the enjoyment of Hessian specialties - from classic dishes such as Frankfurter Grüne Soße, Handkäs mit Musik or Ahle Wurscht to innovative creations with regional ingredients and modern interpretations of local cuisine. The aim is to present guests with the variety and quality of regional cuisine, always combined with a high standard of origin and freshness of the ingredients.
