The task of educational planning is to provide data-based information on the framework conditions, processes and results of education in Wiesbaden.

Educational planning in Wiesbaden consists of various elements.

Education planning encompasses a range of different formats and products, each of which provides specific data and information on the framework conditions, processes, and outcomes of education in the state capital of Wiesbaden.

They thus serve as a basis for educational policy decisions and for successful, target group-oriented education management.

The state capital of Wiesbaden can look back on a long tradition of educational planning and reporting. As early as 2005, the first report, "Equal Education for All? - Social Report on Educational Participation in Wiesbaden," was published, providing comprehensive information on educational activities in the Hessian state capital.

Since then, educational planning has been continuously pursued and expanded. It consists of several components:

  • The "Report on the Educational Participation of Disadvantaged People in Wiesbaden" (2020) describes for the first time all phases of education with a special focus on the educational participation of disadvantaged people. "Integration through Education" is the second education report published by the state capital of Wiesbaden in 2025.
  • Education monitoring is a comprehensive collection of data on the subject of education.
  • The school development plan describes the basis for the provision of school places.
  • The Office for Statistics and Urban Research regularly publishes a statistical yearbook, including on the topic of "Education and Training."
  • The education reporting is supplemented by annual reports from the fields of work of the Office for Social Work and the Social Benefits and Job Center, which are presented as part of social planning.
