Survey results: Wiesbaden focuses on user-friendly digital services

The state capital of Wiesbaden has successfully completed its survey with citizens on a possible city app and would like to thank all participants for their active involvement.

More than 200 responses make it clear that many residents want a centralized, user-friendly, and practical way to access city information, maps, and services. At the same time, however, it is evident that this goal should not be achieved through yet another standalone app.

Through an online survey on the city’s participation portal wiesbadenwirkt.de, conversations in the city center, and a workshop at the Zukunftswerk, the state capital has examined how existing digital offerings and city apps from other municipalities are perceived and what expectations exist for a potential solution for Wiesbaden.

The results clearly show: What is desired is not yet another isolated offering without a clear positioning, but rather a consolidated and easily accessible gateway to the most important city information and services. Against this backdrop, the development of a standalone city app based on the available results is currently not being pursued further.

Rather, the goal remains to make the city’s digital services centrally accessible, suitable for everyday use, and barrier-free. The survey results provide a clear direction for this: fewer isolated solutions, but more guidance, seamless usability without media breaks, and digital services with recognizable added value in everyday life.

The city administration will therefore continuously review and further develop existing digital administrative services with regard to their user-friendliness. In addition, a project is currently underway to bundle various municipal map services and make them available in both digital and analog formats.
