Cooperation with parents

With a transition concept, the networks ensure that parents also arrive well at school and after-school care.

It doesn't work without parents*

A large number of studies have shown that children's educational success depends heavily on the parental home. This is hardly surprising when you consider that the parental home is not only the first place of education for children, but also the only one that has an impact throughout childhood and adolescence.

Everyone benefits from intensive and constructive cooperation between educational institutions (daycare centers, elementary school, after-school care) and families, especially the children.

The networks are therefore called upon to implement a transition concept that not only promotes the children's good arrival at school and after-school care, but also the parents' good arrival. In cooperation with each other, it is important to constantly check whether the existing transition services actually reach all parents and to adapt and expand them if necessary.

*Who do we mean by "parents"?

  • Mother, father, together as a couple or on their own - as in the case of single parents, for example
  • "biological parents" (mothers, fathers) but also
  • "social parents" (mothers, fathers) - such as foster parents, grandparents or new partners of the parents, provided they take on long-term and regular responsibility for the child through their care of the child
