Accounting | Financial Administration (f/m/d)

The Wiesbaden City Museum Foundation is a foundation under public law established by the state capital of Wiesbaden. As the sponsor of the sam - Stadtmuseum am Markt in the heart of Wiesbaden's city center, it ensures the ongoing operation of the museum, looks after, documents and researches the important collection of Nassau antiquities as well as the collections on the history of the city and the Rhine-Main region. The foundation enables the sustainable implementation of exhibitions, events, educational offers and cooperation with schools and other educational institutions, with the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and other players in the city society. The foundation and museum see themselves as a platform and interface for knowledge, education and social dialog. We are currently working on the contemporary further development of sam at a new location.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed employee for the following positions as soon as possible

Accounting | Financial Administration (f/m/d)
part-time (19.5 hours per week)

Your tasks

  • All accounting tasks
  • Planning and processing payment transactions, monitoring account movements, receivables management
  • Recording, checking and processing incoming and outgoing invoices, document filing
  • Monitoring of accounting records via DATEV
  • Supervising the museum cash desk and store (accounting, cash book, stock levels, purchasing merchandising items)
  • Carrying out quarterly controlling, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (in collaboration with management and tax office)
  • Budget management incl. identification of opportunities to optimize resources
  • Administration of subsidies/third-party funds
  • Preparation of the annual (two-year) business plan (together with management) for the municipal budget planning
  • Calculation and controlling of personnel costs (TVöD) with the support of the municipal administration Administration and support of the management in the preparation of the annual activity report for the foundation supervisory authority
  • Statistical recording and processing of visitor numbers and data
  • Initial consideration of the foundation's funding management and calculation of operating costs in connection with a planned new museum operation

Your profile

  • Completed three-year recognized training according to the BBiG, which qualifies you to perform the above-mentioned tasks
  • Professional experience related to the above tasks
  • Knowledge of business evaluations and how to read them correctly
  • Experienced with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with DATEV
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Commitment, absolute reliability, accuracy and discretion
  • Organized, structured working style
  • Good communication skills in German and English
  • Enjoy working with people and enthusiasm for working in the cultural sector

Desirable

  • Knowledge of foundation law and non-profit law
  • Experience in the area of funding management/procurement of third-party funds and preparation of where-used lists
  • Knowledge of personnel management
