Full-time project manager (m/f/d)

For the future-oriented special project "Verhandeln & Verwandeln: Evolving spaces - Developing living spaces together" as part of the World Design Capital 2026 Frankfurt RheinMain, the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Wiesbaden is looking for dedicated reinforcement.
From May to October, the first floor of the former Sportscheck department store in Wiesbaden's city center will be transformed into an open space for participation, discussion and design. More than 28 initiatives from the city and region are shaping the diverse program: from student projects and cultural contributions to events for up to 200 people. They include RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, the Hesse Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners, SV Wehen Wiesbaden and many other players from society, education, sport and urban development. WDC projects and thematically relevant initiatives from Wiesbaden and the surrounding area are to be made visible here and disseminated to the urban community. We want to invite as many people as possible to join in, think and discuss - to shape together how we want to live!
The tasks
Responsibility for the operational management of the overall project. Interface between the project partners (sam, architect, university, WDC Frankfurt) and contact person for participating actors. The employer is the Wiesbaden City Museum Foundation. The workplace is in the offices of the foundation, as well as on site in the department store in downtown Wiesbaden.
Project preparation (February-April 2026):
- Development, coordination and maintenance of the project calendar
- Communication with existing and new project partners
- Clarification of organizational framework conditions with project partners (space, supervision, cleaning, technology, etc.)
- Organization of the opening and closing events (May and October respectively)
Implementation (May-October 2026):
- Operational coordination of the ongoing program (10-22 hrs)/day-to-day management of staff, cleaning, security, technology, etc.
- Ensuring internal and external communication flows
- Organize spontaneous gap-filler formats in the event of last-minute cancellations
- Preparation of reports and evaluation
Finances & promotion:
- Acquiring & looking after other sponsors and funding/third-party funding providers
- Budget controlling and preparation of where-used lists (cultural fund, potential sponsors/third-party funders)
Press & public relations:
- Participation in PR measures in coordination with sam, WDC Frankfurt and WiMarketing
- Promotion of the program and individual events in coordination
What you bring with you:
- Proven experience in project management of complex event formats - ideally in the field of trade fairs and festivals or culture, education or tourism and urban development
- Experience with third-party funding management and public relations
- Organizational talent and clear communication
- Independent, structured way of working
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain an overview - even in dynamic situations
- Enjoy teamwork, commitment and a confident manner
- Reliability and punctuality
- Willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings/weekends)
- Very good verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced with common Office programs, especially Excel; other tools are an advantage
This is desirable:
- Degree in cultural management or similar completed training/studies/specialist studies or comparable professional experience in the cultural sector or tourism
- Affinity / experience in the field of social media
- Creation of photographs and film/video sequences for advertising and documentation purposes
