Get moving! Fit together in old age
Brochure "Get moving! Fit together in old age"
The brochure published by the Sports Office and the Department for Senior Citizens' Affairs at the Office for Social Work, entitled "Get moving! Staying fit together in old age," provides an overview of various sports and exercise programs that have been developed specifically for senior citizens. These range from gymnastics and mobility training to balance and coordination training and training programs of varying degrees of difficulty.
The activities are designed to encourage people to consciously integrate exercise into their everyday lives or to continue existing activities. The focus is not on peak athletic performance, but on adapted, safe, and enjoyable forms of exercise that are tailored to your personal abilities. Any form of exercise can help you remain independent for as long as possible and manage everyday tasks on your own.
Everyday Fitness Test (AFT)
The Department of Senior Citizens' Services, the Sports Office, the Wiesbaden Sports Association, and various senior citizens' service providers are now offering regular everyday fitness tests (AFT) for senior citizens. The test allows older people to check their physical fitness in everyday life and determine whether their performance is sufficient for independent living in old age.
The Everyday Fitness Test (AFT) is a scientifically based test for people aged 60 and over to check their physical performance for independent living in old age. It includes exercises for strength, endurance, mobility, and coordination.
