For 35 years, the Westend Children's, Youth, and Community Center has been offering Wendo self-assertion and self-defense courses for girls and women of different age groups at the Westend Community Center.

Wendo is a women-specific concept that is suitable for every girl and woman, regardless of age, physical fitness, or physical limitations. The Children and Youth Center is in regular professional exchange with the team members of the violence prevention initiative Echt&Stark.

Echt&Stark was founded in 2021 as an interdisciplinary violence prevention initiative and offers a modular violence prevention program for children, young people, parents, and educational professionals. The aim of the initiative is to implement permanent structures for violence prevention in schools, clubs, and youth welfare institutions in order to protect boys and girls from violence in the long term. With its Wendo program, the Children and Youth Center is an integral part of Echt&Stark and a long-term cooperation partner. Further information on the project components of Echt&Stark can be found in the information flyer.
