Transmission blocks
Persons registered in Wiesbaden have the right to object to the publication or transmission of their personal data to the registration authority in accordance with the Federal Registration Act (BMG). An objection may be filed at any time and remains valid until revoked. If you move away, the transmission block expires and must be reapplied for upon your return. The transmission block applies only to the Wiesbaden Registration Office. No justification is required for the entry of transmission blocks. You will not receive additional confirmation that the transmission block you requested has been recorded.
Explanations regarding the individual transmission restrictions
- Objection to the Disclosure of Data to Religious Organizations
The Registration Act provides that, in addition to the data of their members, churches may also be provided with certain basic data on non-members who live with a church member within the same household. However, the affected family member—that is, not the church member themselves—may, pursuant to Section 42(3) of the Federal Registration Act (BMG), request that a data transfer restriction be imposed. - Objection Regarding Age and Marriage Anniversaries
If you are celebrating an age, marriage, or civil partnership anniversary, the registration authority may, pursuant to Section 50(2) of the Federal Population Registration Act (BMG), provide information limited to the following: first and last names, doctoral degree, addresses, and the date and type of the anniversary. However, this information may only be provided if you have not objected. - Objection to Disclosure to Political Parties
In connection with elections, registration data may be disclosed to political parties, voter groups, and other entities submitting candidate lists pursuant to Section 50(1) of the Federal Registration Act (BMG) as part of so-called “group disclosures.”
Note:
With the entry into force of the Act on Reducing Bureaucracy within the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the option to register a transmission block for address book publishers under Section 50(3) of the Federal Registration Act (BMG) has been discontinued as of July 9, 2026.
